Not A New Idea

A whitewater park in Minneapolis is not a new idea. It was proposed and almost made its way to being build. See the attached documents from it. The original origination for that project closed its doors, but the idea is still here burning in the minds of paddlers near and far.

Volunteers Needed

Looking for some motivated people to help build this project.
Things needed:
Logo design
Data analyst
Editor/review
Community leaders
Social Media

I don’t want to drive this project alone, and want to involve as much diversity as possible.
A couple hours of work a week is all this would require.

Thanks, and I look forward to what we could build together.

Public Comment Ends Sunday 18th

I had meant to get this site online sooner and get some data entry completed into it for other whitewater parks around the world.
I hope to create a page where data can be collected for helping build a larger whitewater community in Minneapolis. The creation of a whitewater park would be amazing, but even access to the river in a way that would safely create whitewater recreation is also a goal.

Comments: (you can write what ever you feel would be actions you would like to see. I have included the following as a easy copy paste)

Would like to see the river open to more public access, and recreation with a possible whitewater park. This section of river has a one of a kind location, and geology to have one of the worlds best whitewater parks based on natural flow.
No mater the options considered for the dams/locks whitewater recreation should play a large part in all of them.

See mnwwp.com (minnesotawhitewaterproject.com) for study’s on similar whitewater parks, and the benefits they bring to the community.

Thanks
